Free printable checklist: questions to ask every wedding vendor

  1. 1. Is my date available?

    Always confirm availability first.

  2. 2. Do you offer tastings?

Is there a fee? How many people can come?

  3. 3. How are you priced?

Per slice? Does design complexity add cost?

  4. 4. Buttercream or fondant?

Buttercream tastes better; fondant looks smoother. Ask about your options.

  5. 5. Can you accommodate allergies?

    Gluten-free, nut-free or vegan options?

  6. 6. Do you deliver and set up?

You do NOT want to transport a 3-tier cake yourself.

  7. 7. Do you provide stands?

Is there a rental fee or deposit for the cake stand or cupcake tower?

  8. 8. Who cuts and serves the cake?

Check whether your venue or caterer charges a cutting fee.

  9. 9. When is the final count due?

Usually 2-3 weeks before the wedding.

  10. 10. What is the deposit and payment schedule?

Most vendors take 25-50% to hold your date. Get the balance due date in writing.
